Extension of the measures in force in 2022 and 2023
It has been announced that the measures in force in 2022 and 2023 aimed at maintaining the social security system and protecting families, workers, pensioners and the most vulnerable groups have been extended.
This RDL came into force on 29 December. Below, we highlight some of the most important aspects:
- Revaluation of pensions in line with the CPI
- Fins que s’aprovin els LPGE per a 2024, es regula de manera provisional la revaloració de les pensions.
- The increase will be 3.8% across the board for pensions from the State’s Social Security and Passive Class system. Minimum pensions, non-contributory pensions and the minimum subsistence allowance will rise by 6.9%, and pensions for widows and widowers with family allowances by 14.1%.
- Likewise, the maximum limit established for the receipt of public pensions in 2024 is set at 3,175.04 euros per month or 44,450.56 euros per year.
- In addition, it determines the amount for 2024 of the supplement to contributory pensions and pensions of the State Pension System for the reduction of the gender gap.
- Incentives for fixed-term contracts signed for the substitution of workers. The incentives will be applied, even if a temporary contract for the substitution of a worker in a situation of temporary incapacity due to risk during pregnancy ends and a new contract is signed when the substituted and substituted person coincide with those of the first or previous substitution contract.
- The Minimum Interprofessional Wage is extended. It currently stands at €36/day or €1080/month until the Mesa de Diàleg Social reaches an agreement to increase it.
- Research personnel. It is possible to sign a special agreement for researchers, at the request of the interested parties, which will make it possible to extend, up to a maximum of 5 years, the calculation of the training periods.
- Partial retirement and a reinstatement contract. The regulation will continue to apply to partial retirement with simultaneous conclusion of a reinstatement contract, in force prior to the entry into force for pensions accrued before 1 January 2025.
- A ban on the acquisition and a new extension period for labour measures linked to the receipt of public aid. The prohibition of procurement due to increased energy costs or for reasons related to the invasion of Ukraine is extended until 30 June 2024.
- Temporary Employment Adjustment Plans. The measures to deal with situations of social and economic vulnerability and for the economic and social recovery of the island of La Palma are extended until 30 June 2024.
