The Courts of abusive clauses issued 126.2% more sentences in the first quarter of 2019 than in 2018

The number of judgments delivered in the first quarter of 2019 by the courts specialized in individual shares on general conditions included in financing agreements with real estate security rights whose borrower is a natural person was 30,744, of which 29,613 were favorable to the client. In total, and since its launch in June 2018, these judicial bodies have issued 112,032 judgments, of which 108,373 have been favorable to customers. The number of judgments issued has maintained an upward trend since the creation of these specialized bodies and represent 126.2% more than the 13,589 issued in the same period of 2018. They also represent an increase of 19.3% compared to 25,760 sentences notified in the last three months of last year. The specialized courts resolved 37,746 cases in the analyzed period, representing an increase of 122.7% compared to the same quarter last year and 23% in relation to the last three months of 2018, in which 30,673 cases were concluded. So far in 2019, these judicial bodies have resolved an average of 12,583 cases per month. The resolution rate at the national level in the first quarter of the year has reached 82%, 15.3 percentage points above that of the last three months of 2018 and 54 points more than a year ago, when it was 28%.
