The ICAM launches an information campaign on TikTok to protect minors in the digital environment.
ICAM is preparing its proposals for regulations to underpin the future regulatory framework that comprehensively protects minors in the digital environment, the Madrid Bar Association has also decided to act where children and adolescents go to get information and socialise: social networks.
From its TikTok account, every week the Madrid Bar Association will publish informative content in audiovisual format to provide minors, their families and teachers with effective tools to prevent access to inappropriate content and protect their privacy.
The educational and awareness-raising campaign kicks off this Friday with the collaboration of the director general of the AEPD and advisor to the new ICAM Childhood and Adolescence section, with a tutorial on the operation of the age verification system being developed by the Spanish Data Protection Agency in collaboration with the CNMC and the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
In future issues, we will explain how to act when a minor is a victim of grooming, cyberbullying or sextortion, and what the criminal liability of minors is if they carry out any of these actions.
Also, all kinds of advice will be provided to ensure safe browsing in the digital sphere, whether to prevent phishing or to avoid falling into the nets of a hacker. Issues such as the digital footprint, parental control or the right to be forgotten will also be addressed throughout the campaign.
